Stephan Helms currently serves as Vice President of Strategic Projects at Metso, a position held since 2023, and previously held the role of Vice President of the Repairs Product Group at the same company from 2019 to 2022. Prior to joining Metso, Helms was General Manager for Hofmann Engineering Pty Ltd in South America from 2014 to 2019 and General Manager at Polysius del Peru S.A. from 2010 to 2013, providing services and machinery to the cement and minerals industries. Early in the career, Helms was a Project Manager at Polysius de Mexico, leading multi-million-dollar EPCM Projects, and also at Polysius, where responsibilities included the development and implementation of service concepts for the mining industry. Helms holds a Diplom.-Ing. in Maschinenbau from OWL University of Applied Sciences and Arts, obtained in 2005.
