Timo Haimi

Timo Haimi has extensive experience in the iron and steel industry, beginning as a Summer Intern at SSAB from May 2003 to July 2007, where responsibilities included working in various operating roles at the steel plant. Following this, Timo served as a Development/Production Engineer at Ovako Group from June 2007 to December 2010, focusing on steel melt shop and casting processes. Timo has also held multiple positions at Outotec, including Process Metallurgist, Senior Process Metallurgist, and Manager of Smelting China, emphasizing sales projects and process development particularly in the Chinese market. In February 2021, Timo transitioned to Metso Outotec and then Metso, serving as Senior Sales Manager, specializing in DRI smelting furnace sales, R&D initiatives for decarbonization, and complex plant solutions sales projects. Timo holds a degree from the University of Oulu, attained in 2007.
