Mezzanine is an irregular independent and revival film series based in Los Angeles, developed and overseen by Micah Gottlieb. Programs are frequently done in collaboration with local artists, filmmakers, writers, curators and other luminaries from specific disciplines.

The city of Los Angeles has a long history of alternative and independent moving-image exhibition, developed in opposition to its Hollywood forebears. We are building on this history by creating a dynamic and inclusive space for narrative and non-narrative moving-image work. By doing so, our mission is to keep film history and its archival heritage alive in a new context for modern audiences, in a city dominated by industry-centric endeavors around film exhibition.
