Rick Koch

Rick Koch is a seasoned fire service professional with extensive experience in emergency management and training. Currently serving as Battalion Chief at Ocean City Fire Department since October 2019, Rick previously held the position of Fire/EMS Captain at the same department from September 2016 to October 2019. Rick also has a long-standing role as an Instructor with the Maryland Fire and Rescue Institute (MFRI) since September 1996. Before joining Ocean City, Rick served as Assistant Chief for Cecil County Government from November 1991 until retirement in September 2016, where oversight included education and training for the Cecil County Department of Emergency Services and the Cecil College paramedic training program. Rick holds a Bachelor of Science in Fire Services Administration from Columbia Southern University and an Associate of Arts and Sciences in Paramedicine from Cecil College.
