Prior to working at COMPTON UNIFIED SCHOOL DISTRICT, Vince McLeod worked as a Substitute Teacher at Whittier Christian High School from February 2016 to August 2017. Vince then worked as Dean of Students at Westside High School from July 2020 to March 2021.

Vince McLeod has a teaching credential in social sciences from Whittier College, an MA in intelligence & international security from King's College London, and a BA in political science from Whittier College.
