MIB was first established in 1946 to compensate the victims of uninsured and untraced (hit and run) driving. Over the years we have seen our role in the insurance industry develop significantly and branch into new areas. 

Today we handle around 25,000 new claims every year, from innocent victims of uninsured and hit and run driving, but we also work to reduce the level of uninsured driving. We also work in close partnership with insurers, Police and DVLA, and through our hard work over the last 10 years we have has seen uninsured driving reduce by approximately 50%. We support the insurance industry through managed services, developing and managing a variety of databases on its behalf, deploying experience and providing access to varied skills by working with other organisations.

We have more than 500 people working at MIB in Milton Keynes, working across our claims services and the additional services we provide for the benefit of the insurance industry. Our people lie at the heart of our success; we are all proud of the role we play and what we do.

The Support and Operations team at the Motor Insurers' Bureau (MIB) ensures smooth and efficient operational performance across the organization. This team is responsible for providing administrative support, overseeing IT infrastructure, managing product support, and coordinating claims operations. Key roles within the team include the Admin Support Assistant, Lead IT Support Analyst, Operations Support Manager, Product Support Lead, Service Manager, and Claims Operations Team Leader, all working collaboratively to enhance service delivery and support the company's mission of reducing uninsured driving and supporting the insurance industry.
