From a humble beginning, the late Michael Attard Sr. founded the Michael Attard group in 1938 by trading oil and tyres. In 1949, the company started importing Automobiles PEUGEOT to Malta, becoming one of the oldest franchises to represent the brand outside France.

In 2013 the company was appointed as official importer of Automobiles CITROËN to Malta, and in 2015 also became the sole local representative of the DS Automobiles luxury brand.

Within the automotive sector, Michael Attard Ltd also represents QUALITY USED CARS, as well as EUROREPAR, one of the largest distribution brands for spare parts in the multi-brands repair market.

As from 2017, Michael Attard Ltd once again became local distributors for VEEDOL, a brand that has a long history of use in several of the world's important lubricant markets.

In 2020, Michael Attard Ltd became the official importer of OPEL in Malta, following the PSA strategy of organising the distribution of their products in Europe.

Michael Attard Ltd’s portfolio also includes Q BUSINESS SOLUTIONS since 2010, specialising in the development of business software applications and solutions. This joins the diverse operations of Michael Attard Ltd, which also forms part of ASSIKURA Insurance Brokers.

In 2023, Michael Attard Ltd. celebrated its 85th anniversary, and while embracing its heritage, focuses on driving forward. 

2024 saw the addition of ETRIKO and KATE in Michael Attard Ltd's portfolio. ETRIKO offers a range of electric motorcycles inspired by the history of Italian design, whereas KATE is an ultra-light electric vehicle inspired by the 60s.
