Micratena is a pioneering initiative committed to insect conservation in Mexico. Our work centers on supporting biodiversity, sustainable native insect rearing, and promoting responsible agricultural practices that are essential for maintaining the health of our ecosystems. We recognize that insects play a crucial role in the environment, serving as pollinators, decomposers, and vital components of the food web. They are also key to reducing carbon footprints and addressing hunger in our country and around the world.

Through comprehensive research and hands-on community engagement, we aim to protect vital insect populations. Our projects include native and tropics insect breeding, focused on species such as the black soldier fly, which is not only environmentally friendly but also beneficial for organic waste management. Additionally, we prioritize environmental education, empowering local communities and farmers with knowledge about the importance of insect conservation and sustainable agricultural practices.
