Tun Lin has a comprehensive education history. Tun began their academic journey at Renmin University of China, where they obtained a Bachelor of Applied Science (B.A.Sc.) degree in International Economics from 1993 to 1997. Tun then pursued further studies at The University of Vermont, earning a Master of Science (MSc) degree in Community Development and Agricultural Economics from 1997 to 1999. Tun Lin continued their education at the University of Cambridge, completing a Master of Philosophy (M.Phil.) degree in Economics and Finance from 2000 to 2001. Tun also simultaneously pursued a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) degree in Economics at the same institution, which they successfully obtained in 2004. During this time, they had an exchange opportunity at EHESS - Ecole des Hautes Etudes en Sciences Sociales, specializing in Political Economy for a brief period in 2004.
