Prior to this role, Joni held the position of District Director for Illinois State Representative Ryan Spain from January 2021 to July 2021. From July 2015 to December 2020, Joni was the Executive Director of the Illinois Valley Area Chamber of Commerce and Economic Development, focusing on business representation and economic growth in the Illinois Valley region. Joni also held various positions with the City of Princeton, Illinois, including Director of Economic Development, where responsibilities included promoting the city for investment and managing economic financing, and Director of Tourism and Marketing, which involved community planning and tourism initiatives. Joni's career began as a City Commissioner responsible for public health and safety. Joni earned education degrees from Western Illinois University and Eureka College.
