Simon Harris is the Vice President of Informatics at Microbiotica, where they focus on bioinformatics, genomics, and metagenomics to enhance human health. Previously, Simon worked at the Wellcome Trust Sanger Institute from 2008 to 2014 as a Staff Scientist and later as a Senior Staff Scientist, conducting large-scale bioinformatic and phylogenetic analyses. Simon was also a Post-Doctoral researcher at Newcastle University from 2005 to 2008, utilizing complex phylogenetic models for evolutionary research. In addition, Simon held a position as a Senior Program Officer at the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, leading genomics initiatives and collaborating with organizations such as Africa CDC. Simon earned a PhD in Morphological Phylogenetics and a BSc in Biology and Geology from the University of Bristol.
