Multidrug-resistant bacterial infections are among the most serious global health threats, with extremely high mortality rates worldwide. The number of related deaths continues to rise, and research estimates that by 2050, approximately 10 million people per year could die as a result of antimicrobial resistance.

Despite the severity of this crisis, there are currently very few approved and effective treatment options available, resulting in a significant unmet medical need.
