Andrei Popescu

Andrei Popescu is a seasoned engineering professional with extensive expertise in digital signal processing and communication systems. Currently serving as a Senior Technical Staff Engineer in Communication Systems at Microchip Technology Inc. since February 2023, Andrei previously held the position of Principal Engineer at Phoelex, focusing on digital architecture and implementation for optical networks. Career highlights include roles as Principal DSP Systems Engineer at Palma Ceia SemiDesign, Chief DSP Architect at Neul, and Fellow in DSP Design at Samsung Electronics, where Andrei led the digital/DSP design for 802.11 wireless LAN standards. With a robust foundation in hardware design for digital signal processing from CSR, Andrei also contributed significantly to audio and video subsystems at Motion Media Technology. Andrei earned a Ph.D. in Digital Signal Processing from Télécom Paris, further solidifying a strong technical background in the field.
