Joseph Smith

Joseph Smith, PhD, is a highly experienced engineer and researcher with a diverse background in semiconductor technology, biosensor development, and defense electronics. Currently serving as a Senior Member of Technical Staff at Microchip Technology Inc., Joseph leads the design of radiation-hard power MOSFET devices. Previous roles include Senior Director at INanoBio, focusing on nano-scale biosensors, and Senior Scientist at Alphacore Inc., where Joseph managed R&D projects for defense applications. Joseph held senior engineering positions at Northrop Grumman, contributing to avionics for launch vehicles, and served as CTO at FlexBioTech, leading efforts in medical diagnostic technologies. With a Ph.D. in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from Arizona State University, Joseph’s extensive expertise encompasses biosensor systems, flexible electronics, and advanced CMOS technologies.
