Michael Penner is a seasoned engineer with extensive experience in integrated circuits and firmware design. Presently, as a Senior Technical Staff Engineer at Microchip Technology Inc., Michael leads the CPU Subsystem team and has successfully driven the development of high-performance Ethernet devices, including the META-DX2L. Prior to this role, Michael contributed at Broadcom Inc. as a Principal Engineer and Senior Staff Engineer, focusing on design for test (DFT) for various cellular baseband SoCs and set-top box chips. Earlier in the career at PMC-Sierra (now Microsemi), significant contributions included firmware development and high-performance hardware design for PCI Host Bridges, as well as ASIC design for DSL traffic aggregation. Michael holds a Bachelor of Applied Science in Electrical Engineering with Honours from The University of British Columbia.
