Microcombsys-DN is a groundbreaking Doctoral Network funded by the European Union’s Marie Skłodowska-Curie program. Running from October 2023, this four-year project brings together 12 talented Doctoral Candidates to shape the future of photonic technology under the guidance of top academic and industrial leaders.

What We Do
Microcombsys-DN focuses on optical frequency combs—revolutionary photonic devices enabling precision frequency synthesis and metrology. Microcombs take this innovation to the next level, offering compact, chip-scale solutions with incredible performance. However, their transition from proof-of-concept systems to scalable, real-world applications remains a challenge.

Our Vision
This network bridges the gap between lab-based prototypes and deployment in fields like quantum computing, biophotonics, datacenter interconnects, and autonomous vehicle lidar. By combining expertise in microresonator combs, integration, packaging, and nonlinear physics, Microcombsys-DN is set to revolutionize photonic systems engineering.
