Currie Munce is a seasoned executive in the storage technology sector, currently serving as Vice President of Storage Solutions Architecture at Micron Technology since July 2016, where responsibilities include defining storage architectural directions and engaging with customers and partners. Prior to Micron, Currie held various high-level positions at HGST, a Western Digital company, from January 2003 to March 2016, including Vice President of SSD Product Development, overseeing enterprise SSD development, and Vice President of Research and Advanced Technology, focusing on future technologies. Earlier experience includes serving as Director of Storage Systems & Technology Research at IBM from January 1996 to December 2002, where leadership encompassed all research activities related to storage technologies. Currie Munce holds a PhD in Mechanical Engineering from Stanford University and a Bachelor's degree in Applied Mechanics, graduating Summa Cum Laude from UC San Diego.
