Rob Johns

Rob Johns is a Senior Dry Etch Process Engineer at Micron Technology since October 2022, previously serving as a Process Engineer at HCL Technologies and at Facebook/Oculus. With expertise in front end plasma etch engineering, Rob has developed etching strategies for optical devices and utilized statistical process control and E3 data flows to diagnose issues in prior roles at Intel Corporation. Academic credentials include a PhD in Physical Chemistry from the University of California, Berkeley, complemented by research positions at Berkeley Lab and The University of Texas at Austin, where experience in optical characterization of plasmonic materials was gained. Additionally, Rob has completed a data science bootcamp and provided instruction in chemistry labs at UC Berkeley.
