Marko Blom

Chief Technology Officer at Micronit

Marko Blom has extensive work experience in the field of microfluidics and lab-on-a-chip technologies. Marko began their career as a PhD student at the University of Twente, Enschede, The Netherlands in 1998. After completing their PhD in 2002, they joined Sandia National Laboratories as an Intern Lab-on-a-Chip in 2001. In 2003, they worked as an R&D Scientist at Polymer Laboratories until 2004. Starting in 2005, Marko joined Micronit as an R&D Manager and Project Manager, where they worked until 2011. Marko then assumed the role of CTO at Micronit in April 2011 and held this position until the present. In October 2017, Marko took on the role of VP of Product Development at Micronit, which lasted until February 2020. Throughout their career, Marko has demonstrated their expertise in microfluidics and has made significant contributions to the development of lab-on-a-chip technologies.

Marko Blom completed their education with a Ph.D. in Applied Physics from the University of Twente in 2002. Prior to their doctoral studies, they obtained a Master of Science degree in Applied Physics from the same university between 1993 and 1998. Marko's earlier education includes attending Corderius from 1987 to 1993, but specific degrees or fields of study are not available for this period. Additionally, they recently completed the MBA Essentials program at The London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE) in 2022.
