Alexander Vaschillo is currently a Principal Software Design Engineer at Microsoft, where they focus on quantum computing research and incubation. Previously, they served as Associate General Manager at the High Performance Database Research Center, leading a team in developing the Semantic Object Database System. During their tenure at Microsoft as Lead Program Manager, they owned the XML functionality for SQL Server and contributed significantly to various Microsoft products, including designing the CSS 2.1 engine for Internet Explorer 8. Additionally, Alexander has been President of the Northwest Academy of Sciences since 2003, overseeing scientific and educational projects. Alexander holds a Ph.D. in Computer Science from Florida International University and a Master’s degree in Mathematics from St. Petersburg State University.
