Billie Rinaldi is a Principal Engineering Manager at Microsoft, where they have been since 2020, following a role as a Principal Software Engineer from 2019 to 2020. They previously held positions as a Principal Software Engineer at Cloudera and served as the VP of Apache Accumulo and Project Management Committee Chair at The Apache Software Foundation from 2012 to 2017. Billie’s experience also includes working as a Computer Systems Researcher and Applied Research Mathematician for the US Government between 2004 and 2012. They are a member of the Apache Software Foundation and have contributed to various projects within the Hadoop ecosystem. Billie holds a Ph.D. in applied mathematics from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute and is currently pursuing a Bachelor of Arts and a Master's degree in Mathematics from Washington College and Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, respectively.
