Carlos Alvarez

Carlos Alvarez is an applied scientist at Microsoft, where they contribute to the Azure HPC/AI team. Previously, Carlos worked as an undergraduate researcher at the University of Washington, developing a scientific claim verification dataset and comparing NLP model performance on misinformation detection. Carlos also interned at Electronic Arts, leading software development projects, and participated in the Murchison Research Fellowship at Trinity University, where they designed software for optical systems. They hold a Bachelor of Science in Informatics from the University of Washington and an academic background in Physics from Trinity University.
