Chris Gillum is currently a Partner Software Architect at Microsoft, where they are focused on building and designing serverless PaaS platforms for Azure and open source programming models. They previously served as a Principal Software Architect at Microsoft from 2006 to 2023, contributing to the development of Azure App Service and Azure Functions, among other projects. Before that, Chris co-founded Sky Balloon, where they developed popular iOS applications, including the successful app Capture, from 2009 to 2020. Chris began their journey at Microsoft as an intern from 2002 to 2005, developing automation tools for testing BizTalk Server products. They hold a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science from the University of Washington, completed in 2006.
