Frederick Smith

Frederick Smith is a high-performance Critical Environment Operations Engineer and Assistant Operations Manager at Microsoft, where they support hyperscale data center operations in Virginia. They lead the execution of complex initiatives, manage mechanical and electrical systems, and ensure operational integrity across Microsoft’s global cloud infrastructure. With over eight years of experience in data center engineering and infrastructure program management, Frederick is recognized for their impactful contributions, including optimizing systems and enhancing vendor compliance. They hold a Master’s in Mechanical Engineering from Columbia University and are certified in PMP, CSM, and CSPO. In July 2025, Frederick will assume full responsibility as a Critical Environment Operations Engineer at Microsoft's flagship Boydton campus.
