Garnet Vaz

Garnet Vaz is a Principal Data Scientist at Microsoft’s CoreAI organization, where they focus on building the data and intelligence layer for AI infrastructure on a global scale. Garnet leads initiatives that transform raw telemetry into high-value insights, enhancing efficiency and reliability across GPU fleets and inference services. With a strong background in telemetry systems and data quality frameworks, Garnet collaborates across engineering, research, and product teams to improve operational data accuracy and drive informed decision-making. Garnet holds a Ph.D. in Applied Mathematics from the University of California, Merced and an M.S. in Applied Mathematics & Statistics from Stony Brook University. Prior to their current role, Garnet worked as a Mechanical Engineer at Larsen & Toubro Limited and as a Graduate Assistant at Stony Brook University.
