Hesham Sakr

Hesham Sakr is a Lead Engineer specializing in Fiber Optic Technology, with a rich background in optical and communications engineering. They earned a PhD from the University of Nottingham and have contributed to pivotal advancements in Hollow Core Fiber technology, achieving groundbreaking results during their time at Lumenisity Limited and Microsoft. Previously, Hesham served as a Research Fellow at the University of Southampton, leading industrial projects that set world records in fiber technology. They have also held teaching and research roles at Zewail City of Science and Technology, where they advanced the understanding of optical fibers in both academic and practical settings. Currently, Hesham focuses on R&D initiatives at Microsoft, striving for innovation in optical solutions.
