Kai Mihata is a skilled software engineer with experience in both research and industry. As an Undergraduate Research Assistant at the UW Department of Human Centered Design and Engineering from September 2019 to June 2021, Kai assessed teen emotional clarity through an interactive application and contributed to the development of a robot interaction design suite, applying Human Centered Design Principles for effective user communication. In March 2024, Kai held a role as Software Engineer at Microsoft, working on Azure Portal, and previously interned as a Software Engineer, where responsibilities included developing a tool to enhance extension performance in the Azure portal and creating an interactive visualization of ReactView page load events and Lighthouse metrics.
