Lili Cheng

Lili Cheng is the CVP of Microsoft AI & Research at Microsoft. Lili has also worked for Apple Computer, Skidmore Ownings and Merrill, and Nihon Sekkei International.

Lili Cheng began their career as an architect and urban designer. Lili designed large scale urban projects including the Gas Company Tower in Los Angeles and Canary Wharf in London. In 1993, they joined Apple Computer's Advanced Technology Group and Human Interface Group. There, they designed and developed QuicktimeVR and Quicktime Conferencing. Both projects shipped as Apple's primary focus for video, rich media, and computational communication.

In 2006, Cheng joined Microsoft Research as a Distinguished Engineer and the founding member of the social media research group FUSE Labs. Cheng was also the general manager of Microsoft Research Connections, which incubates long-term projects and builds bridges between academic research and product groups across Microsoft.

As CVP of Microsoft AI & Research, Cheng is responsible for driving the company's technology and product strategy in artificial intelligence and research.

Lili Cheng has a Master's Degree in Interactive Telecommunications from New York University, and a Bachelor of Architecture (B.Arch) from Cornell University. Lili also has a certification from LinkedIn in Reid Hoffman and Chris Yeh on Creating an Alliance with Employees.
