Mario Madden

Mario Madden holds a distinguished legal career, beginning with a position as a Judicial Clerk for the Hon. Jack Landau at the Oregon Court of Appeals from August 1999 to August 2001. Following this, Mario served as an Attorney at Schwabe Williamson & Wyatt from September 2001 to February 2007, representing clients in civil trial and appellate matters. From September 2007 to September 2013, Mario held several key roles at Microsoft, culminating in the position of Associate General Counsel, where responsibilities included managing a legal team focused on consumer health AI and AI strategy initiatives. Subsequent titles at Microsoft included Sr. Attorney for Intellectual Property and Licensing, Open Source Research and Policy Lead, and Assistant General Counsel in multiple divisions, including Technology & Research and Cloud & Enterprise, overseeing various legal groups dedicated to IP and open source matters. Mario earned a Summa Cum Laude degree from Willamette University College of Law from 1996 to 1999.
