Matt Kappel is a software engineer and supercomputing veteran with a focus on extreme scaling and leveraging computational power for significant scientific challenges. Currently serving as a Principal Software Engineer at Microsoft, Matt is involved in HPC/AI power and load planning for the AI Customer Experience team. Previously, Matt held various roles, including Software Engineer at the Institute for Health Metrics and Evaluation and Senior Software Engineer at Hewlett Packard Enterprise, among others. Matt's early experience includes a Teaching Assistant position at the University of Minnesota and roles at NASA Glenn Research Center and DePauw University.
