Rick Tax

Rick Tax is a Principal Physical Design Engineer at Microsoft, where they have been instrumental in advancing semiconductor technology since 2018. With 30 years of experience in the semiconductor industry, Rick has a proven track record of delivering leading processor cores across multiple advanced technologies, including 65nm to 7nm. Previously, they held positions at Qualcomm and IBM, contributing significantly to physical design methodologies focused on low-power design and custom clock distribution/analysis. Rick is currently pursuing a Master's degree in Electrical Engineering from North Carolina State University and holds a Bachelor's degree in the same field from the South Dakota School of Mines and Technology.
