Ryan Smith

Ryan Smith is a Principal Software Engineer at Microsoft, currently contributing to the Azure Infrastructure Engineering team, where they create the next generation of firmware for the Azure Cloud. Previously, Ryan served as a Principal Firmware Engineer at Microsoft, architecting embedded code for Surface devices and mentoring junior engineers. With an extensive background in firmware architecture and development, Ryan has held key roles at companies such as Medtronic and CVRx, where they led teams in building firmware departments and ensuring regulatory compliance. Ryan earned a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from the University of Minnesota-Twin Cities.
