Sandra (Sandi) E. Peterson is an operating partner at Clayton, Dubilier & Rice, a private investment firm. She works closely with the firm’s investment team and corporate leaders to source and evaluate transactions as well as support portfolio company management teams as they execute their value creation plans.
Previously, Peterson served as group worldwide chairman for Johnson & Johnson, the world’s largest broadly based healthcare company, where her portfolio included medical devices, consumer, global operating infrastructure, technology, supply chain and key strategic initiatives.
Peterson had an extensive global career in healthcare, life sciences, consumer goods and consulting. From 2005 through 2012 she was chairman and CEO of Bayer CropScience AG in Germany and CEO of Bayer Medical Devices. Prior to that she worked for Medco Health Solutions Inc. (formerly Merck-Medco) from 1999 to 2004.
Peterson was a member of the board of directors of The Dun & Bradstreet Corp. where she chaired the Innovation & Technology Committee. Peterson holds a B.A. from Cornell University and an M.P.A. from Princeton University.
Peterson joined the Microsoft board as an independent director in December 2015.
