Scott Charney is currently the Vice President for Security Policy at Microsoft, where they work with public and private sector organizations to enhance the security of the IT ecosystem. In addition to their role at Microsoft, Scott serves as Vice Chair of the National Security Telecommunications Advisory Committee, a Commissioner on the Global Commission for the Stability of Cyberspace, and Chair of the Board of the Global Cyber Alliance. Previously, they led Microsoft’s Trustworthy Computing Group and served as chief of the Computer Crime and Intellectual Property Section at the U.S. Department of Justice, where they oversaw significant initiatives in computer crime and intellectual property. Scott holds a Doctor of Law from Syracuse University College of Law and a bachelor's degree from Binghamton University.
