Sherif A.

Sherif A. is a Principal Software Engineer at Microsoft, where they lead the design of networked systems for Azure Edge and Platform, enabling real-time intelligence in manufacturing processes. Prior to this role, Sherif served as a Senior Staff Software Engineer at Futurewei Technologies, Inc., where they were the founding engineer of Mizar, an innovative container networking system for Kubernetes. Their earlier experience includes roles at AWS, where they contributed to foundational networking platforms, and at Etisalat Egypt, where they improved mobile network efficiencies. Sherif has also held academic positions, working as a Research Assistant at Oregon State University, focusing on integrating cloud and IoT systems to enhance distributed computing. Currently, Sherif is pursuing a PhD at Oregon State University, alongside an MSc and a Bachelor’s degree from Cairo University.
