Simon Lia-Jonassen

Simon Lia-Jonassen is a Principal Architect at Microsoft, where they help integrate AI to enhance productivity. They previously held positions as a Principal Engineering and Data Science Manager and a Senior Software Engineer focused on the Microsoft Feed recommendation service. Before joining Microsoft, Simon was a Tech Lead at Cxense and gained research experience as a Visiting Researcher at Yahoo! and a PhD Fellow at the Norwegian University of Science and Technology, where they contributed to multiple publications on query processing. Simon also co-founded a data science team at Cxense and developed advanced data management technologies that became central to the company’s success.
