William Chappell

Dr. William Chappell is the Chief Technology Officer and Corporate Vice President of Microsoft Discovery and Quantum, overseeing the Strategic Missions and Technology Division. They lead initiatives focused on Quantum, 5G, and government business, having developed key teams and technologies such as Azure Space and Spectrum. Previously, Dr. Chappell served as the Office Director at DARPA, where they directed efforts in national security related to the electromagnetic spectrum and advanced DoD electronics. They also held a professorship at Purdue University, specializing in electromagnetics, and earned a PhD in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from the University of Michigan.
