John Carrithers

John Carrithers is a seasoned professional in clinical affairs with extensive experience in leadership roles across multiple organizations. Currently, John serves as the Sr Director of Clinical Affairs at MicroTransponder since March 2025. Prior to this, John held the position of Senior Director of Clinical at Nuvaira, Inc. from November 2021 to March 2025. Previously, John worked at Abbott as Director of Clinical Research and Associate Clinical Program Director from August 2019 to November 2021. John's career also includes significant tenures at Medtronic, Upsher-Smith, and Merck, where John progressed through various clinical research roles. John holds advanced degrees, including a postdoctoral position from East Carolina University, a Ph.D. in Physiology and Molecular Biophysics from the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences, a Master’s degree in Exercise Physiology from Ball State University, and a Bachelor’s degree in Exercise Physiology from Ohio University.
