Cole Lawson

Cole Lawson has accumulated extensive experience in the finance and venture capital sectors, currently serving as a Venture Associate at MicroVentures since December 2021, with prior roles including Sr. Venture Analyst, Venture Analyst, and Venture/Due Diligence Intern. At Virginia Tech SEED, Lawson played a pivotal role as a Financials Sector Analyst, managing a $5 million student-run portfolio and achieving a significant outperformance of the XLF index in 2021. Additional experience includes a position as a Business Development Executive at Funding Founding, where efforts focused on growth initiatives, as well as an Investment Intern role at Third Security, LLC, involving analysis and due diligence on Life Science and Biotech startups. A background in agriculture includes years spent working on a 350-acre family farm. Lawson holds a Bachelor of Science in Finance and Management from Virginia Tech, complemented by a minor in New Venture Growth.
