M. Bulut Coskun

Principal MEMS Engineer at MicroVision

M. Bulut Coskun has a strong background in engineering, with a focus on MEMS (Micro-Electro-Mechanical Systems) technology. M. Bulut is currently working at MicroVision as a Principal MEMS Engineer, where they are responsible for the characterization and troubleshooting of MEMS scanning micromirror assemblies. Prior to this, they held the role of Senior Staff MEMS Engineer at MicroVision, where they conducted die, assembly, and system level measurements using Laser Doppler Vibrometry.

Before joining MicroVision, M. Bulut Coskun worked as a JPL Postdoctoral Fellow at the NASA Jet Propulsion Laboratory. During this time, they designed and delivered electrostatic microvalves for the Spacecraft Atmosphere Monitor (SAM) project and developed GaN-based thermal infrared sparse detector arrays for NASA planetary applications. M. Bulut'ssuccessful delivery of the microvalves earned him the NASA/JPL Star Award.

Earlier in their career, M. Bulut Coskun served as a Research Associate at The University of Texas at Dallas. Here, they specialized in the development of electrostatic nanopositioning stages for scanning tunneling microscopy applications and atomic force microscopy techniques. M. Bulut also developed piezoelectric cantilever arrays and integrated piezoelectric transducers for high-throughput atomic force microscopy.

Additionally, M. Bulut Coskun worked as a Design and Test Engineer at SDM Research & Engineering, where they gained experience in design and testing.

Overall, M. Bulut Coskun has extensive experience in MEMS engineering and has made significant contributions to various projects within the field.

M. Bulut Coskun holds a PhD in Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering from Monash University, which was completed from 2012 to 2015. Prior to that, they obtained a Master of Science (MSc) in Mechatronics Engineering from Sabanci University, from 2009 to 2011. M. Bulut'sundergraduate education was also at Sabanci University, where they earned a Bachelor of Science (BSc) in Mechatronics Engineering from 2004 to 2009. Additionally, M. Bulut Coskun has obtained an Advanced Certificate in Altium Designer 20 from Altium® in 2021.
