Jey Wegner

Jey Wegner is currently the Director of the Fellowship and Protection Program at MICT, overseeing global initiatives for at-risk journalists and media makers. Jey has previously worked as an R&D Fellow at Media Lab Bayern, where they developed a toolkit to enhance civic engagement through journalism. With a strong background in media and communication, Jey has held various roles at organizations such as Deutsche Welle, UNESCO, and DW Akademie. They co-founded TrustRoots Network, promoting trust-based partnerships, and have contributed to research projects focused on independent media in Europe. Jey holds multiple degrees, including a Master's in International Development from Sciences Po and a Bachelor's in Politics, Philosophy, and Economics from the University of Durham.
