Rick Brawn is the Managing Director at MiddleGround Capital. Rick has over 25 years of experience in private equity and turnaround management.

Rick started their career as a Part-time Consultant at GLG in October 2013. In July 2014, they took on the role of Managing Director at Weir Power & Industrial where they led a global aftermarket services business. Rick successfully improved profit margin by focusing on international growth, restructuring the business and developing new service offerings.

In March 2016, Rick became an Operating Partner at GenNx360 Capital Partners, a fund-level invested partner for a middle market private equity firm. Rick took an active role through lifetime of investments across multiple platform companies. Rick's focus was on developing and accelerating value creation from diligence to monetization.

Most recently, Rick was seconded as CEO to turnaround a chassis fabrication business in Michigan from March 2021 to August 2021. During this time, they grew revenue 75% by increasing output, improving pricing and restructuring contracts.

Rick Brawn completed their undergraduate studies at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, where they earned a Bachelor of Science in Aerospace, Aeronautical and Astronautical Engineering. Rick then went on to earn a Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute. Finally, they completed their education with a Master of Business Administration in corporate finance from Harvard Business School.
