Formed through the combination of the Michigan Library Consortium and Indiana Cooperative Library Services Authority (INCOLSA) in 2010, MCLS is a two-state, multitype library consortium that offers a wide range of services to its members. It has become the premier source for e-resource licensing, training, and system hosting and support services for libraries in Michigan and Indiana.

MCLS and its legacy organizations, MLC and INCOLSA, have been serving libraries since 1974.
