Laura Tool

Laura Tool is currently a Scientist at MIMETAS, having transitioned from the role of Junior Scientist. Previous experience includes serving as a Research Intern in Hematology at Leiden University Medical Center, focusing on the immune checkpoint molecule VISTA, and as an Examentrainer at Lyceo, where preparation for secondary school students in biology, chemistry, physics, and mathematics was provided. Laura has also completed internships at MIMETAS where work involved the development of a kidney injury prevention model on a Kidney-on-a-Chip, and at Leiden University Medical Center conducting research on immunosuppression effects in organ transplantation. Formal education includes a Master's degree in Biomedical Sciences and a Bachelor's degree from Leiden University, as well as a minor in Organ Transplantation from Erasmus University Rotterdam.
