Mark Smith has had a varied career, beginning in 2004 as a Technician for Apple, where they were Apple-trained in pro applications including Final Cut Pro, Logic, etc. and was completely fluent in Microsoft Office, Photoshop, Filemaker and various other time- and asset-managing programs. In 2007, they became an Assistant Video Coordinator for Scholastic, where they contributed to the editing of a 26-episode children’s television series which aired on the ION network in 2008, generated written deliverable content necessary for the domestic and international distribution of the show, and created a unique database system with which to monitor Scholastic’s extensive DVD library. In 2008, they became an Avid/Final Cut Pro Editor - Freelance, and in 2010 they became Video Merchandising and Marketing Manager for Direct Brands, Inc., where they drove innovation through product marketing and merchandising initiatives for the Columbia House DVD Club's web site, email and print catalogs to deliver exclusive and high-quality products to 2M+ consumers annually while maintaining projected margins and profitability goals. In 2012, they became Senior Account Manager for Pica9, Inc., where they cultivated and managed high impact client contracts across several top 100 industries, lead a team of account managers to implement new client projects and monitor and improve the health, status, and future prospects for their respective accounts, and researched and sold contract extensions to improve the overall client satisfaction with their services while increasing their monthly profitability goals. In 2014, they became Project Manager for SteadyRain, where they managed a portfolio of client relationships to deliver targeted web content and special projects for several commercial industries including manufacturing, engineering, sales/retail, and automotive. Lastly, in 2016 they became Account Manager for MindActive Web Strategy & Innovations, where they engaged and activated client contracts for several leading industry brands, consulted, scripted, produced, and delivered specialized video projects for numerous clients, and worked with diversely talented teams across several disciplines to consult with clients on overall brand direction.
Mark Smith obtained a Bachelor's Degree in Cinematography and Film/Video Production from the School of Visual Arts in 2008. Mark also holds a Certified Scrum Master in Agile Development certification.
