MindFreedom International is a nonprofit organization that unites 100 sponsor and affiliate grassroots groups with thousands of individual members to win human rights and alternatives for people labeled with psychiatric disabilities.

Campaigns include supporting hope for people in mental health with an "I Got Better" campaign, issuing alerts against human rights violations such as involuntary electroshock, and publishing a directory of alternatives in mental health.

"In a spirit of mutual cooperation, MindFreedom leads a nonviolent revolution of freedom, equality, truth and human rights that unites people affected by the mental health system with movements for justice everywhere."

While open to the public, including mental health professionals, family members, and advocates, a survey shows that a majority of MindFreedom members identify as having experienced abuse and neglect in mental health care.
