Chief Technology Officer at Mindstep

James Allardice has held a variety of roles in the software engineering and technology industries since 2010. In 2010, they worked as an Applications Specialist at Sabio, where they helped pioneer the use of jQuery to decrease development times and improve the user experience of contact center agents. In 2011, they were hired as an Application Engineer at Homeserve, and was largely responsible for the rewriting of the application in a more modular fashion. In 2012, they worked as a Senior JavaScript Developer at Global Personals (now Venntro), where they were responsible for improving front-end tooling and streamlining the JavaScript development process. In 2013, they worked as a Lead JavaScript Engineer at Capita Employee Benefits, where they led the introduction of a new era of front-end development. In 2014, they worked as a Lead Software Engineer at Mammal, where their focus was on full-stack JavaScript development. In 2016, they worked as a Software Engineer (SDEIII) at Tesco PLC, where they were instrumental in an organisation-wide push towards modern web technologies. In 2017, they co-founded Orange Jellyfish, a London-based consultancy. Finally, in 2020, they were appointed Chief Technology Officer of Mindstep, where they oversee the technical direction of the business.

James Allardice obtained a Certificate of Higher Education in Computer Science from the University of Birmingham between 2008 and 2010. James also obtained a certification in Security Operations on AWS from Amazon Web Services in October 2017.
