Michael currently holds the position of Senior Manager of Cloud Infrastructure / DevOps at Minitab since June 2022. Prior to this, they worked as a Cloud Architect at Minitab from May 2021 to June 2022.
Before joining Minitab, Michael worked at Microsoft for almost 6 years. Michael started as a Cloud Solution Architect in October 2015 and held the role until May 2021. In this position, they were responsible for driving technical-level engagements on the Microsoft Azure platform, providing architectural guidance, and designing highly resilient architectures.
Prior to Microsoft, they worked at Minitab as an Advisory Research Software Architect from January 2014 to October 2015. In this role, they focused on architecting and leading cloud-based product initiatives on the Microsoft Azure platform. Michael also designed identity federation platforms and extended data storage platforms.
Before their tenure at Minitab, Michael worked as a Senior Staff Software Engineer and Staff Web Architect at Minitab from January 2013 to January 2014 and August 2008 to December 2012, respectively.
Michael began their career at Blue Mountain Quality Resources, Inc. as a Software Developer from October 2005 to August 2008. Here, they developed software for FDA regulated industries, applying agile methodologies.
Michael's early professional experience includes working at Penn State University as a Senior Analyst / Application Programmer from July 2001 to October 2005. In this role, they developed web-based data mining tools and automated credit card systems.
Michael Yeaney obtained a BS degree in Management Science & Information Systems from Penn State University, where they studied from 1996 to 2001. Michael also holds several additional certifications, including MCSA: Linux on Azure, MCSA: Cloud Platform, MCSE: Cloud Platform and Infrastructure, MCSE: Cloud Platform and Infrastructure – Certified 2016, MCSD: Azure Solutions Architect, MS: Architecting Microsoft Azure Solutions (70-534), MS: Implementing Microsoft Azure Infrastructure Solutions (70-533), MS: Developing Microsoft Azure Solutions (70-532), and LFCS - Certified System Administrator. These certifications were obtained from institutions such as edX, Microsoft, and The Linux Foundation, primarily in 2016 and 2017.
