Tom Bottern

Tom Bottern has extensive experience in the legal and legislative fields, currently serving as the Secretary of the Senate for the Minnesota Senate since January 1997. In addition to this role, Tom Bottern has held positions as the Director of Senate Counsel, Research and Fiscal Analysis, and Counsel within the same department. Prior to this, Tom Bottern worked as an associate at Faegre & Benson LLP from 1993 to 1996 and served as a Law Clerk for Justice M. Jeanne Coyne at the Minnesota Supreme Court from 1992 to 1993. Tom Bottern earned a Juris Doctor degree from the University of Wisconsin Law School between 1989 and 1992 and holds a Bachelor of Arts in American Studies from Williams College, awarded in 1989.
