Daniel Friedrichs, Ph.D. has extensive work experience in the field of medical engineering and research. Daniel began their career in 2008 as a Graduate Research Assistant at the University of Colorado at Boulder. During this time, they gained valuable research experience.

In 2011, Daniel joined Medtronic (formerly Covidien) as a Staff R&D Engineer. In this role, they were involved in pre-product R&D engineering and concept design for surgical tools and medical power supplies. Daniel also led or participated in various activities throughout the new product development cycle, including competitive intelligence, customer needs assessments, concept design, and prototyping.

After four years with Medtronic, Daniel joined the University of Colorado Boulder in 2015 as a Research Associate and Lecturer. Here, they taught a senior-level technical elective course in electromagnetic energy conversion. Daniel received excellent ratings from students.

Since 2017, Daniel has been working at Minnetronix, Inc. in a role titled Technical Expert & Senior Principal Engineer. Daniel serves as a Mini-CTO for the surgical energy Key Technology Segment, providing expert-level technical guidance in various medical/surgical energy-based therapies. Daniel also oversees technical activities within the Key Technology Segment.
